It sounds lame and whiny, but I think work has killed/is killing my body. My joints hurt pretty frequently now, especially after long shifts.

It’d actually be preferable if it was my job, because I don’t want it to be arthritis like my mom had. Hers used to be really bad because of St. Louis winters, like can’t-get-out-of-bed bad, which was part of why we moved to SC. I don’t want to have that problem.

My issue with Yahoo owning Tumblr (if you could call it that) is that Yahoo basically runs everything into the ground because as a company it has no vision or grasp on what people want in an online site nowadays. Yahoo sucks from a business standpoint.

But this “tumblr is for the outsiders” shit is so ridiculous. Tumblr is simply a microblogging platform. Certain groups have flocked to the site, but Tumblr did not build that community. So I don’t see how Yahoo owning Tumblr would suddenly make it a place only for the “cool” and “hip”. All Yahoo owning Tumblr would do is ruin the platform by overcomplicating it, making the design worse, adding unnecessary features, etc.

Not everyone who uses tumblr is some fandom kid crying about disney movies or whatever the fuck. Plenty of professional creatives, serious bloggers, etc. also use this site so trying to create an image around a microblogging platform is dumb.

My iMac has been really good lately about not crashing & the only thing I can think of that has been different about the last couple weeks is I haven’t been watching Netflix on it at all. So I think Netflix (or more specifically, Silverlight) is the problem, not the computer itself.

Which I guess is good, but also annoying that I can watch Netflix on my tiny little Air, but not on my 21” desktop that basically has doubled as an extra TV since I got it.

Yes it is possible yahoo will buy out tumblr, it is equally as possible that Facebook will buy tumblr, so i have a third option, its late but hopefully not too late, the idea is we buy tumblr ourselves, if every user donated a few dollars it might be possible for the bloggers to own tumblr.

My dad is loaning my brother money so he can buy a car (guess that moped isn’t working out too well) & he just put down a deposit on a big ass Ford Excursion. Which means (assuming he lets us drive it to Pittsburgh) I will definitely be able to get that bar back to Norfolk.

And I’m pretty sure Jimmy has his eye on a keggerator when he gets back (to celebrate finally getting paid E5 salary, which only recently happened even though he advanced in December). We were joking about it, but I think he actually wants to get one.

Where does Aquafina water cost more than 20 oz Cokes? I’ve never seen that in any store, they’re both Coke products and almost always priced identically. I think Dasani (Pepsi product) is actually 20 cents cheaper than Pepsi’s soda at my store.

And Coke doesn’t cost $.99 in most stores anymore unless its on sale. It costs around $1.50 at most places if not close to $2. Small sodas are more expensive because they’re the only cold ones they sell & they know people will pay more for less because of that. Coke (& Pepsi) won’t allow the store I work at to refrigerate the 99 cent 1 liters we sell because that cuts into the 20 oz sales.

Jimmy’s mom decided that if the ship comes in a few days early, she’ll come down with his younger sisters (10 & 13 I think now). But the current homecoming date is right before when they have a week at a cabin up in northern WI planned, so if the date stays the same they won’t be able to make it.

So we shall see. I could see it going either way, and knowing the Navy we won’t know for sure for another couple weeks at least.

I think it’d be fun if his mom did come, they’d be able to hang out at the beach on top of seeing the homecoming. But I do think having them in the house with us right after deployment (aka sex deprival period) could be awkward. Guess we’ll just have to be quiet and sneaky if that’s the case.
