In an effort to post some stuff that’s a little less depressing (I’ll go back to normal posting of images & stuff as soon as I get home), I’d like to announce that in less than 20 days total, Jimmy and I managed to try almost 50 beers. We documented it all in a little notebook that I gave him & gave each beer ratings. We probably did hit 50 because we went with a friend to a brewery one day in Wisconsin & tried at least a dozen beers. I was just taking sips since I was DD but Jimmy had a good 8 beers, plus we had some samples & tasted some of his friend’s beers. We just stopped documenting at the brewery after about 6 because Jimmy was way too drunk to give meaningful ratings. We came really close to opening & closing the taphouse but left a little before it closed (granted its hours were only 3 pm - 9 pm since it was a weekday but still).

Our goal was 50 and since we fell short as far as the notebook is concerned, we’re just going to have to try again when he gets home. I figure we could probably do 50 easy in a shorter time frame since he’ll be fairly beer deprived on deployment. We should be able to end up with over 100 tried within a year.

I’ve actually found recently that I’m more into mixed drinks than beer (UV Blue & Voltage ftw) but trying different beers & going to breweries is fun & something we both like to do.

P.S.- We tried mead at an Irish festival in Wisconsin & that shit is amazing. I’m also slightly ashamed to say I’m a new fan of Jeremiah Weed. Way better than Mike’s Hard. You can barely taste the alcohol, it’s not all that sweet & since it’s not carbonated you can drink it easier.
